Job Description
Resend is growing fast, and there are now over 4 million developers using it. We’re building tools that make email better for developers. We care about dependable infrastructure, thoughtful design, and the experience of everyone building with our products.
On our DevTools Squad, you’ll work across our SDKs, React Email, CLI, MCP, and integrations, alongside the backend services that support them. Your work will help developers build within their existing workflows, understand failures, and confidently depend on Resend as their applications grow.
This role is fully remote based in Americas or European timezones, with some expected travel for team offsites, conferences, meetups, and more.

In this role, you will…
- Build and maintain developer tools that make Resend easy to integrate with across languages, frameworks, and environments
- Build and operate services that support our developer tools and integrations
- Collaborate with product squads on clear API contracts and consistent behavior across SDKs, CLI, MCP, and documentation
- Build the interfaces developers and agents use to work with Resend, such as MCP, skills, and the CLI
- Take care of compatibility, testing, releases, and upgrades so developers can depend on what we ship
- Build shared tooling that helps other squads ship changes across our developer tools confidently
- Work directly with developers through support, GitHub issues, and pull requests
You will be a great fit if you
- Have strong backend engineering experience, including building and maintaining APIs or services in production.
- Are experienced in TypeScript and Node.js
- Understand authentication, authorization, retries, idempotency, rate limits, and partial failures
- Have built software that other developers depend on and understand the responsibility of maintaining it
- Care about interface design, clear errors, useful documentation, and backward compatibility
- Think about agents as users of a product, with their own needs for discovery and security
- Can take an ambiguous problem, propose a focused solution, and follow through after release
- Communicate clearly, welcome feedback, and take ownership while working closely with others
You will be an exceptional fit if you also
- Have maintained an open source project or worked closely with external contributors
- Have built SDKs, command-line tools, MCP servers, or integrations between platforms
- Have experience with React or frontend build tooling
- Have built and operated systems with queues, monitoring, and error recovery
- Have worked across multiple programming languages and understand what makes a library feel natural in each
- Have experience with email development or a strong interest in learning the space
What it means to join the team
- Room to shape technical decisions and take projects from discovery through production
- Work remotely with teammates around the world
- Close collaboration with the developers who use what you build
- Teammates who value thoughtful feedback, shared learning, and care for each other
- A high bar for product quality, reliability, and the details that make software enjoyable to use
- Comp: $130,000 - $160,000 USD, commensurate with location and experience

How to apply
The Apply button opens Resend's own application page in a new browser tab — applying is free, and this board never sits between you and the employer: no middleman, no form of ours to fill first.
This posting runs on Ashby, the applicant tracking system behind Resend's job board — the form you'll see lives at jobs.ashbyhq.com. It asks for the basics first: your name, email, and a résumé/CV upload. After that come the custom questions this employer wrote for the role — Ashby lets each team tailor its application, and some postings add a short questionnaire on top, so set aside a few quiet minutes rather than a thirty-second sprint. Because the questions change per role, re-read the requirements above before you start typing; answers that echo the exact skills the listing names are the ones that survive screening. Two practical notes: apply promptly while the posting is verified live, since teams close applications once a role fills, and use one email address for the application so your details stay under one identity.
