Lead Today's Production. Engineer Tomorrow's Systems
Before launch, ICEYE satellites rely on complex electronics, battery packs, and flight software. Today, these critical workflows depend heavily on manual assembly and verification.
To support our rapid growth, we are seeking a Production Team Lead to modernize, scale, and own this end-to-end area, enabling exponential output while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and operational simplicity.
Leading teams across electronics, batteries, software, and testing, you will utilize dedicated capital resources to build an automated, data-driven production environment.
What you will own
- Daily Operations: Lead manufacturing across electronics assembly, battery fabrication, software loading, integration, and functional testing while upholding safety, quality, cost, and throughput standards.
- Production Architecture: Standardize workflows, takt times, line layouts, and kitting to deliver predictable, repeatable cycle times.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Scale new subsystem designs and next-gen satellite platforms from R&D to high-rate production, ensuring tooling, test, and workforce readiness.
- Automation & Digital Manufacturing: Champion automated functional testing, scripted software deployment, unit-level data logging, and full electronic revision traceability.
- Hardware-Software Integration: Optimize workflows spanning assembly, functional testing, firmware flashing, and systemic validation to ensure flawless alignment between software releases and hardware revisions.
- DFM/DFT & Continuous Improvement: Participate in design reviews, translating floor-level yield and test metrics into continuous design and manufacturing enhancements.
- Risk & Quality Controls: Embed best practices for battery handling, state-of-charge management, ESD protection, FOD control, and cleanroom disciplines directly into daily operations.
- Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, certify (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, ESD), and mentor a team of 10–15 technicians using visual management and Lean frameworks.
What you bring
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of assembly and testing experience in electronics, battery systems, avionics, rf within high-reliability sectors (aerospace, defense, EV, or robotics).
- Proven leadership experience managing and coaching 10–15 technicians in fast-paced production environments.
- Strong practical electronics expertise: interpreting schematics/drawings, operating diagnostic equipment, and isolating root causes.
- Software integration experience: firmware flashing, version control, configuration management, automated log parsing, and test script execution (e.g., Python).
- Foundational knowledge of battery safety and handling protocols, including state-of-charge management.
- Applied mastery of Lean manufacturing principles (standardized work, takt time, root-cause analysis) with a track record of driving operational improvements.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and professional English communication abilities.
Technical Domains Managed
You will lead and collaborate with experts across PCB design, embedded software, battery electrochemistry, RF testing, and environmental testing. Specialized background in any of these areas is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
High-rate manufacturing background; experience implementing automated test systems or software deployment pipelines; active J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 Trainer certifications; familiarity with ECSS/NASA standards; experience with MES, ERP, or PLM platforms.
The bar
We are looking for a forward-thinking leader who blends operational rigor with a systems-engineering mindset—proactively eliminating manual bottlenecks, addressing root-cause defects, and continuously optimizing manufacturing efficiency.
Who this is not for
- Professionals seeking to administer legacy processes rather than design, build, and scale new operational frameworks.
- Candidates who prefer strict boundaries between hardware and software engineering domains.
- Desk-bound managers—this role requires an active, engaging daily presence on the cleanroom production floor.
Why ICEYE
ICEYE designs, manufactures, and operates the world's largest constellation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites. We build our satellites in-house and are actively scaling manufacturing capabilities for next-generation constellations.
- Direct Impact: Drive production for core satellite subsystems that directly govern our constellation's global growth rate.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work side by side with hardware design, software engineering, and satellite integration teams co-located in our Espoo facility.
- Capital Support: Access dedicated budget and capital backing to implement state-of-the-art automated test setups and manufacturing technology.
Practicalities and how to apply
- Location: Espoo, Finland (on-site production floor role with occasional site travel).
- Language & Relocation: International English-speaking workplace; relocation support provided where applicable.
Please submit your CV along with a one-page summary highlighting a major engineering or production challenge you led and solved—detailing the baseline, strategic actions, and measurable results achieved.
How to apply
The Apply button opens ICEYE's own application page in a new browser tab — applying is free, and this board never sits between you and the employer: no middleman, no form of ours to fill first.
This posting runs on Ashby, the applicant tracking system behind ICEYE's job board — the form you'll see lives at jobs.ashbyhq.com. It asks for the basics first: your name, email, and a résumé/CV upload. After that come the custom questions this employer wrote for the role — Ashby lets each team tailor its application, and some postings add a short questionnaire on top, so set aside a few quiet minutes rather than a thirty-second sprint. Because the questions change per role, re-read the requirements above before you start typing; answers that echo the exact skills the listing names are the ones that survive screening. Two practical notes: apply promptly while the posting is verified live, since teams close applications once a role fills, and use one email address for the application so your details stay under one identity.
Before you start

- Yes. Listings on this board are re-verified 4 times a day and auto-expire 45 days after posting — if this page is visible, the role was open at the last check.
- Where does the Apply button go?
- Straight to ICEYE's own application page — never a middleman. Every listing here comes from the employer's own job board, so the Apply button simply opens their page in a new tab.
- Does it require experience?
- The employer tags this role as lead level — the requirements above spell out what that means in practice.
- Is the salary listed?
- No — this employer didn't publish a salary range for this role. Their own application page is the place to check for pay details.
